Like the first two installments, this book consists of interconnected short stories. With each iteration, we get closer to a novel form. Here, the frame story is a dark reflection of the Arabian Nights style. Our prisoner has to keep telling stories to keep his captors from killing him.
Many secrets are revealed in the Evil of Balar where paranoia and festering secrets are the name of the game.
