It’s here! It’s finally here! The third volume of the Bright Report is finally out. Check it out now! Available in paperback and eBook, this third installment brings you seven new short stories from this insane comedy anthology.
See my previous post for what to expect in this volume.
Writing the Bright Report stories is a lot of fun – especially since I can embrace my crazy side. Hopefully there are some stories here that will speak to you or at least make you laugh. I would love to hear what you think of it, so please consider posting an honest review or rating (or just tell me what you think of it in the comments below).
Have you tried Volume 1 or Volume 2? Do you have a favourite? Is there a topic you hope one of the journalists will cover? Have you had a look at the free, introductory short story?
Please let me know below.
Why the Limes?
I try to keep the covers as simple as possible. Now, I’m not sure if this is to the benefit or determent of the books (do let me know), but I like ensuring that the stories are more important than anything else.
So, each volume has a simple sketch of something mentioned in the book. For Volume 1, typewriters are everywhere. For Volume 2, the Fitzgerald Feather makes a forgettable appearance (those who know, know). And for Volume 3, life gives you limes… Retired detective, Frank Safely, uncovers a conspiracy that has something to do with limes – if only he could get his flashbacks straight.
What about Volume 4? Well, let’s just say it is something with feathers…pink feathers. Hold onto your tinfoil hats.
And yes, as I have said before, there is a meta narrative developing. Anyone have any idea what it is?
I do. Of course, I do. I hate not planning everything out. So, what I mean to say is: trust me. We are building towards something big and (because it is the Bright Report) slightly insane.
Now What?
I jumped straight into Volume 4, so expect to see more announcements in the next few months. Hopefully, you will come back for more…
Seven more stories, including the conclusion of Carmichael Carmichael’s adventure in the Cloud Islands and a few returning favourites (Mr. Bord, anyone?). There will be more details as time goes by, so be sure to subscribe to the blog or follow me on Twitter for announcements and more.
Oh! Before I forget, I am currently answering questions on Goodreads right now. So, if you have any questions about the Bright Report, please post them there.
